A time to heal
The last couple of weeks I’m sure have been challenging for many of you no matter where in the world your living , and now more than ever we need to draw on our inner calm and strength for ourselves and each other.
Thinking about the theme of last months blog ‘On Time’ seems almost ironic now that we are being asked to stay home for an extended period , of which we don’t yet exactly know how long . However one of the many benefits of our beloved yoga practice is that we can move our bodies through a series of Asana , and with each movement we can entwine our minds together with our bodies until they are one and before we know it we’re in a moving meditation which is allowing us to live in the present moment peacefully.
There will undoubtedly be times over these next weeks and months where we’ll feel like our minds are having to work overtime, and many aspects of our lives will need focus and attention . I’m beginning to write a daily schedule , listing the ‘must dos’ etc. But another thing I am doing and would also encourage you to do , is make time to do something each day you perhaps haven’t had time for recently. It could be taking an hour or two to read something new , it even a favourite old book you haven’t read in ages . Cook tasty nourishing food , from start to finish , then sit down and eat each mouthful mindfully. Watch the wildlife and nature , if you can without going to far get out in the fresh air !
Whatever the reasons are for this to be happening right now, perhaps Mother Nature will be able to take the time to heal , rejuvenate and restore some much needed equilibrium , and perhaps we too need to do the same!
