A year of spiritual enlightenment
As we begin this brand new exciting decade one of the things that’s sitting in the forefront of my mind is a news article in one of the English papers I was recently told about, predicting that this decade will be the one where we all drop the need to keep collecting material possessions in favour of more spiritual enlightenment!
So it could be an interesting question to ask ourselves, how much of our worldly possessions do we really need? According to many sages in ancient wisdom non attachment is the key to happiness and peace of mind. Not meaning that you don’t care, but perhaps that you accept how things are and become. This is however often easier said than done, we can’t simply all become Nomads renounce all worldly possessions and live in amongst Mother Nature alone.. We can though live each day mindfully without taking more than we need not just from our fellow human beings, but all living living creatures.
Perhaps this coming spiritual awakening will be a renewed respect for Mother Earth and all her wonders, a gratefulness for the gift of life and a united consciousness that will work to put an end to pollution and begin regeneration where it’s needed.
When your next in a place that inspires you in nature, wherever that may be just stop for a moment breathe deeply and take in all the sounds smells sights , then close your eyes and ask yourself what are the things in life most important to you? ...
So yes practicing non attachment may be no bad thing, but maybe staying attached just enough to each other in order to help keep our planet healthy and beautiful could also be a wonderful plan.
